Presenters at the SETAC Latin America meeting are invited to submit a full paper or a critical review of their presented work to be considered for a special section in the SETAC Journal, Environmental Toxicology & Chemistry (ET&C) based on the presentations of the meeting. The deadline for submitting the manuscripts through the ET&C online submission system is 31 December 2015.

If you are interested, email a title and author list by 10 September to Gustavo Somoza.

This special section in ET&C will serve to spotlight the high quality research being presented in Latin America, similar to that published in 2012. All manuscripts are subject to independent peer review, which is managed by the journal.

Preparation and Submission of Manuscripts

Manuscripts should be prepared in accordance with the style and format requirements specified in the ET&C Instructions to Authors. Author instructions can be found here.

Each manuscript must be accompanied with a cover letter specifically describing how the work contributes to the special series. Supplemental data files to be posted in conjunction with the article also must be included as part of the submission package.

Potential conflict of interest must be reported at the time the original manuscript is submitted. Research funding and other support from outside the authors’ stated affiliation must be disclosed in an Acknowledgment section included immediately before the reference section in the manuscript.

During the online submission process, please select “Special Section” as the manuscript type. In the section “Details & Comments,” you will be asked to choose a special section. At this point, please select “Latin America” from the drop-down menu. Once all files are uploaded, and all questions have been addressed, review and submit your manuscript.

Submitted manuscripts will initially be reviewed by the editor‐in‐chief and editorial staff to verify that the work is within the scope of the journal and is otherwise appropriate for peer review. All original manuscripts are subject to review by at least two outside referees. ET&C is unable to provide extensive editorial assistance regarding English usage and grammar. Therefore, authors are asked to seek appropriate editorial assistance before submitting their manuscript for review.
